Overview
Velunor LLC ("Velunor," "we," "us," or "our") develops and publishes Shadow Tales. The game works without a Velunor account, a Velunor-operated game server, or a Velunor cloud-save service. Game progress remains on the device, but third-party advertising and store services process limited information as described below.
Information stored on your device
Shadow Tales stores game progress and preferences locally on your device. This may include completed and unlocked stories, stars, best completion times, in-game resources, hidden-path progress, tutorial and opening status, audio settings, play mode, and language preference. This information is used only to continue your journey and apply your choices inside the game.
The current release does not provide a Velunor cloud-save service and does not transmit this game state to Velunor. Your operating system may include application data in a device backup according to your device and backup settings.
Optional system sharing
If you choose a Share action, Shadow Tales creates a temporary screenshot of the game and prepares localized story text, then asks the operating system to open its share sheet. You decide whether to share, which available destination to use, and whether to cancel.
Velunor does not receive the screenshot, message, selected destination, recipient, or account information. The game receives only a completion or cancellation response so it can show the appropriate local result and, where applicable, apply the disclosed in-game keepsake or path bonus. If you send content to another application or service, that provider processes it under its own privacy practices.
Advertising, analytics, and tracking
Shadow Tales uses Unity LevelPlay mediation and Unity Ads to provide occasional interstitial ads after completed stories and optional rewarded ads in the Workshop. Ads do not interrupt an active puzzle. Velunor does not operate its own behavioral analytics service, but Unity and advertising partners may process information to request, select, deliver, limit, secure, and measure ads and to operate and improve their services.
Depending on the ad, device settings, region, and privacy choices, this information may include device or app identifiers; an advertising identifier when Apple permits access; IP address and IP-derived approximate location; app, ad-impression, click, and interaction information; purchase-related signals; device language, make, model, operating system, screen size, and connection type; and SDK performance information. Some information may be associated with an app installation or device. When authorized, an advertising identifier may be used by advertising partners for cross-app advertising or measurement.
Before advertising is initialized, the game displays a neutral explanation with a single Continue button that opens Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. Personalized tracking and advertising signals are enabled only when you grant permission in Apple's system prompt. If you decline, or if permission is restricted or undetermined, the game uses less-personalized advertising. Your choice does not affect access to gameplay or stories and does not remove ads; advertising providers may still process limited information needed for contextual ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention, security, and legal compliance.
The game does not request camera, microphone, Contacts, Photos, or precise-location permission for advertising. Approximate location may nevertheless be inferred by an advertising provider from an IP address. In-app purchases
Shadow Tales offers Pip's Homecoming as an optional one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. It permanently unlocks all three Hidden Paths, comprising nine additional story games, and removes advertising. All fifteen main stories remain available without this purchase.
Purchases and refunds are processed by Apple through the App Store. Shadow Tales uses Unity IAP and Apple's StoreKit services to request product information, begin purchases, confirm transaction and entitlement status, and restore eligible purchases. Apple and Unity may process transaction identifiers, product identifiers, purchase or restoration status, and related technical information for these purposes. Velunor does not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details. See Apple's Privacy Policy and the Unity policy linked above for their practices.
Children's privacy
Shadow Tales is a general-audience game and is not directed specifically to children under 13. It does not require a child or any other player to create a Velunor account, provide a name or email address, or submit personal information to play. Advertising providers may apply age- and region-appropriate controls under their own policies and applicable law. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has sent personal information directly to Velunor, contact us so we can address the request.
Your choices and data deletion
You can avoid sharing by not selecting a Share action or by cancelling the system share sheet. You can review the game's advertising privacy information from Settings and manage Apple's tracking permission in iOS or iPadOS Settings. Apple's permission controls personalized tracking but not whether the free version contains ads. Unity may also offer privacy controls within an ad; requests concerning Unity-held data are handled under Unity's policy.
You can change language and audio preferences in the game's Settings screen. Local game data can be removed by deleting the app, subject to any device backup retained under your Apple account settings. You can use Restore Purchases in the game to request restoration of an eligible non-consumable purchase associated with the same App Store account.
This website and support email
This is a static informational website. Velunor does not place advertising cookies, analytics cookies, or cross-site tracking technology on it. Our hosting and network provider may process standard technical request data needed to deliver and protect the site under its own terms.
If you email us, we receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. We use them to respond, provide support, keep appropriate business records, and protect against abuse. Please do not send passwords or sensitive personal information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy if Shadow Tales, its services, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. We will post updates at this URL and will update App Store disclosures when required.
